Review: Karmin G3 Salon Pro Flat Iron

How fast time flies, I can't believe 2010 is almost ending!  My #1 New  Year's Resolution is definitely to lose weight.  I think over the past few months I have been indulging myself too much in good food and drinks that I probably gained 15 lbs from my original weight so now all my clothes are getting a little bit too tight for comfort :)  I am also hoping that I will be blogging more regularly since I feel like I have so much to share and review but sometimes life get's busy and I lose that blogging streak.

So enough with my blabbing on with the post.  I was contacted a representative from www.hairproductspro.com to do a review on the Karmin G3 Salon Pro Flat Iron.  At first I was 50/50 on this when I saw that it was a flat iron, since I have straight thin hair it doesn't need to get any flatter lol  But I read up on the details about this iron and saw that it claims to straighten, curl, and do waves so I was then intrigued to try.

I have never used a flat iron to curl my hair before although I have read blogs and seen videos on it.  When it comes to hair curling I always opted for a curling iron or heated rollers.

The iron itself came with an instruction booklet that gave you simple directions on how to achieve the style you want.

So for the curls I sectioned my hair by putting the top half up then start curling the bottom part first.

Since my hair is long it's hard for the iron to curl my hair from top to bottom so I chose to start from the middle instead of all the way on the bottom of my strands because I wanted more volume on the top.

Once you clamp on to the section of your hair you just twist your hair around the iron like you would with a regular curling iron.

Then you basically just pull the iron straight down while still clamping on to your hair.  The result is bouncy and airy curls.

Overall I really love the results of the curls.  I have already used this a few times when I am going out to dinner or to a party and results were great.  Another thing that I noticed is the curls last quite a long time as well, which with my regular curling iron my curls seem to straighten out after a while since my hair tends to get oily.

Now that  I've tried this, I am contemplating on investing in a good professional grade blow dryer.  I definitely can see a difference in styling with a poorly made tool and high quality one!

What are your favorite styling tools?

NOTE: This product was sent to me for review purposes.  The review is base on my personal experiences with the product and my honest opinion.  I was not paid to do this.

Mimi Boutique

I was lucky enough to win a Facebook Giveaway hosted by Mimi Boutique (www.mimiboutique.com).  They are basically an online store that offers a variety of designer inspired bags, jewelry, and accessories.

They are always hosting some sort of giveaway weekly so join them on Facebook.

The prize I won was the "Heart of Gold" clutch.  I was definitely excited since it's the Holidays this would be perfect for parties!

The clutch is so cute and sparkly.

It also comes with a chain strap in case you want to carry it like a purse.  The only bad thing I can say about this clutch is that since it's an odd shape my iPhone doesn't fit in there :(

That's all for today, hope everyone is doing well!

i use my sisters GHD straightners to curl my hair since im blessed with super straight hair and its really hard to keep the curls in but these seem to have a very good long lasting result :)
The finished look of my hair curling can be seen on my latest blog post: www.cutiecocochanel.blogspot.com

Wah I loooove that heart clutch Amy!!! Congrats on winning the giveaway. Sorry to hear that the iphone can't fit in it though.

I know, I have a lot of products to review but life gets busy!

Thanks for the lat iron review. Your curls look really pretty. I'm interested in getting a fancy hair dryer too, maybe the T1?

P.S.
Thanks so much for your comment on my family post Amy. I really appreciate your supportive and nice comment. Wah I'll have to bother you next time I go to Disneyland in LA. J. gets free tickets now haha so maybe the four of us can go in the future sometime.

:O I love the gold heart clutch! I saw one very similar to it at F21 and almost bought it until I realised that my blackberry can't fit into it :(
I love using flat irons to curl my hair too hehe I can actually do a better job at curling with it than using an actual barrel iron :) Thanks for posting the reivew!

Wow, I LOVE the clutch, sooo pretty, you should do an outfit of the day with it. So I think I need this flat iron now that I remember that mean comment you said to me in Santa Monica that day.

"I thought your hair was supposed to look like that, you know that just gotta out of bed look"

OMG SO MEAN! Hahah! lol, my hair was on one that day.

Congrats on winning that super sparkly n' cute clutch, Amy! I love the curls this flat iron gives you. =D Speaking of investing in quality stuff, I recently tossed my old hairdryer and bought a T3 during the Sephora F&F sale. My hair loves it!
