Minnesota Trip : Food pics

Happy not so happy Monday hehe!  Mondays are my least favorite day of the week unless it is a Holiday.  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  The weather here in L.A. has been nice and sunny lately so I have just been enjoying the last days of summer.  The only bad part is that my skin get's so oily when it's hot out that my face greases up so fast after 3-4 hours!

This is a long over due post of pictures from my trip to Minnesota from last month! lol  I really do need to get back on track with these posts.  These are mainly just food pictures, since most of the time there was spent hanging out with my Bf's family we really don't go out to much places and usually the main focus is having dinner and visiting and catching up with relatives so there's usually a lot of good food involved!  Needless to say I gained 5 lbs from this trip.

My Birthday just passed a few weeks ago so my next post is going to be about that and all the little goodies I got!  No beauty related stuff this time around, just pure food so beware hungry people :)

Russian style home made meatballs!  These were super tender and delicious with home made tomato sauce to go with it.

Salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, and dills picked fresh from the garden!  My bf's parents grow these vegetables right in their backyard.

We found this little guy hanging out on the patio umbrella.  He's so cute!

A view of the outside patio.  Summer in Minnesota is really nice, much better than winter!

We had brunch at a German place and they had really refreshing beers.

Sausage sampler platter with sauerkraut  and potatoes.

I don't really remember what this is but it's some sort of stewed pork my bf's dad ordered.

We went to visit my bf's aunt and this is food pics from the dinner at their place.  There was so much food.

I have become addicted to eating red caviar spread on some french bread with butter, so yum!

Cold summer borscht soup (basically beet soup).  Really tasty and different from anything I've ever had.

This was the main course, stuffed peppers and cabbage.  I was so full from all the appetizers that I barely could fit this into my stomach.

This berry custard pudding tart was so yummy.

Creampuffs!  I had no room for these left in me.

We went hiking at some lake I forget the name and spotted this deer.  I guess it's pretty common to see animals and wild life out and about in Minnesota but you'll never see any here in L.A. unless you go to the zoo! haha

Well I hope you guys enjoyed the pictures!

I have been trying to organize and clean out my beauty items all weekend and I have also updated my blog sale with some new items so please take a peek.

Jewelry Haulin

Hello blog world!  I hope all is well and beautiful in everyone's world.  I've been bad again and neglected my blog :(  I really want to get back into it full swing but life just keeps throwing things at me that sometimes I just can't keep up.  I haven't forgotten about you guys and I miss talking, commenting and connecting with all of you.

I just recently came back from a one week trip to Minnesota and it was just gorgeous there!  I have only been there during Christmas (my bf's parents live there so I tag along with him when he goes visits), but I am glad I got to see how it is like over there in the summer.  I'll have some pictures to share with you guys in my future posts because they are all on my digi cam that has 0% battery at the moment.

Besides from that I noticed I have been purchasing a lot of jewelry lately, even more than make up (crazy, I know).  So I wanted to share with you some of my recent jewelry buys.

Eki Love

I love all of Eki's creations, she always makes the cutest pieces!  I was lucky enough to order one of her necklaces (they usually sell out so fast).  This has been one of my favorite necklaces to wear, it really adds a nice touch to any plain outfit.

Jujubeads

After I saw Juli's post on these vintage style necklaces I had to have one!  I absolutely love the toggle and the bird detail.   Originally it had another stone hanging from it but I asked Juli to customize it for me and put in a black heart instead.  (sorry for my no make up face...eeh)

Forever21

I love shopping at Forever21 for jewelry.  They always have such a variety of styles and the price is always affordable!  I was inspired to get the big jewel medallion necklace after watching Sex and the City 2.  It's quite big and a little heavy but it looks gorgeous over a white tank, tee, or dress!

I'm also into big cocktail rings now for some reason and this one was calling my name!

Randoms

My bf surprised me with this ring while we were shopping at TJ Maxx.  He knew that I was into big rings lately so he grabbed me one.

My aunt sent these over from Thailand and I thought they were adorable!  I love bracelets with lots of charms on it.

I don't own too many light green colored jewelry but I should since my bday is in August and my birthstone is Peridot which is a light green color!

Super cute and girly  necklace!

I'm also liking big stones and beads as of lately too.

Can't go wrong with a simple necklace with a star!

OMG these are my fav!!  These Micky Mouse studs are so adorable!  My mom gave it to me but I think she ordered it from an Avon catalog.

Food Porn!

So I've been making an effort to take more food pictures lately every time I go out to eat.  The iPhone 4 also takes amazing pictures so I'm very pleased.

Le Pettie Creperie
3809 Grand View Blvd
Los AngelesCA 90066

Me and my bf are Yelp whores, so we try to look up new places to eat on Yelp.  This place got a really high rating and we were looking for a place with good coffee and breakfast items.

French pressed coffee!  It was amazing.

Crepes with egg, ham, and cheese.  I definitely will be coming back here again!

Alejo's Presto Italian Restaurant
8343 Lincoln Blvd
Los AngelesCA 90045

Handmade gnocchi with red and white sauce (I added mushrooms).

Veal marsala with grilled vegetables.

I've been to Alejo's multiple times, it's a really great family Italian place!

S&W Country Diner
9748 Washington Blvd
Culver CityCA 90232
Neighborhood: Culve

Homemade corn beef hash and eggs.

Country style pork chops and eggs with gravy.

That's all for today.  Darn, all these food pics are making me hungry! *stomach growls*

Til next time...toodles!
