Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Color - 2% Milk

Hello lovelies!  How is everyone's weekend going?  It has been cold and gloomy all week but all of a sudden it got really hot during the weekend!  It basically feels like summer all over again, warm enough that you can walk around with just a tank top and shorts on even late at night.  Hopefully it will stay this way for a bit and not go back to cold mode again once the work week starts.

I have been on a nail polish frenzy lately, mainly because I've been painting my nails on a weekly basis.  Another reason is that they are usually cheaper than other beauty products so it's easy to justify picking up one or 2 nail polishes here and there when you are on a budget.

Wet n Wild nail polishes are quite affordable ranging from 99 cents to $1.99 each and they sometimes have a nice selection of colors.  The only thing is that they are a hit and miss sometimes with their formula depending on what color you get.  I picked up a Megalast nail polish in 2% Milk.  This color really caught my attention because I was looking for just a plain simple everyday color and who can resist with a name like 2% Milk? hehe  Although in real life 2% Milk is my least favorite because it is just too watery!  I prefer low fat or just plain whole milk.

2% Milk looks like a Milky Beige color in the bottle.

This is 2 coats of it and it is still not opaque enough and was still a bit streaky.  The formula wasn't the easiest to work with and I tried doing 3 coats but it just appeared too goopy and gunky looking.  I really like how the color looks but I wish it wasn't so sheer.

I decided to glam it up a little bit by putting some Barry M glitter on the tips.

Overall it's a love and hate with this one because I adore the color but hate the formula!  But for the cheap price tag I guess it will have to do hehe

I love Barry M nail paints!  I wish it was more readily available in the US.

NYC Berry Bloom Collection Rose Lip Glosses

It's so hard to stay away when I work just a few steps away from CVS drugstore!  I told myself I wouldn't buy anymore drugstore products so I can save up for the high end ones but some things are just so irresistible.

I came across NYC ( New York Color ) Berry Bloom Collection and couldn't help but take a peek at some of their items.  Most of the items looked okay but nothing really caught my eyes besides the Rose Lip Glosses!  The one thing that definitely stood out the most was the rose design on the product itself.

These go for only $2.99 and can easily be found at any drugstore (CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens) that carries NYC products.

They come in these really cute and compact packaging that's perfect to throw in your bag.

They come in 2 colors.  This one is in Rose Kiss.

This one is my favorite in Peony Kiss.

Rose kiss is a cute carnation pink color with a hint of pearl.

Peony kiss is a gorgeous rosy red color.  This is a great color for Fall.

Overall:  Both glosses are creamy, glides on smoothly, and pigmented.  The only down side is that they can feel a bit dry on the lips so it's best to apply lip balm underneath, and they aren't the longest lasting but for $2.99 it's definitely worth to try!

These are also limited edition so get them before they are gone.

Cafe Porn

I have been going to a lot of cafes lately with my friend so here are just some random pics!

Ice Vanilla Latte

Green Tea Latte

Red Velvet Cheesecake

Sweet Potato  Latte

This was my first time trying this and it was delicious!  Only thing I have to say is that it was a little bit thick and it felt more like I was drinking a dessert than a latte hehe

Fall has officially begun!  Have a good rest of the week.

Review + Swatch: Essie Fall Collection 2010 Mini Pack

Summer is ending and fall is just around the corner.  The weather here has been mostly cold and gloomy which definitely gets me in the mood for chunky cardigans, comfy boots, scarves, and dark and muted colors!

For some reason this year fall nail color collections have been really exciting to me.  I'm loving the khaki color trends, and the dark plums this year.  Essie Fall collection is one that really caught my eye so when they offered a mini set of all their fall colors I had to have it!

The set retails for $17 USD and comes with mini bottle of all the 4 colors in the Fall collection.  I have yet to finish any  nail color that I own yet so mini size was perfect.

L to R: Limited Additcion, Sew Psyched (sorry for the little stain, I had used it already!)

Sew Pscyhed was the color that I was most excited about.  It reminded me of one of the color from Chanel's Fall collection.  I don't own any nail color like this one and I love it!  It's a gorgeous khaki army green color.

I might get the full size of this color, since I love it so much.

Limited Addiction is a bright red color with a hint of fuchsia.  I might use this color for a night of going out but it's too bright for my everyday color.

L to R : Little Brown Dress, Merino Cool

Merino Cool is a gorgeous purple taupe color.  This too is a favorite of mine!

Little brown dress is a dark brown chocolate color.  It really reminds me of chocolate syrup!  When I was applying this it sort of made me crave for some hot chocolate hehe.

I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to doing my own nails.  I mess up constantly!  2 of my staples that I need in making my nail polishing experience an ease is OPI base coat and Seche Vite (for top coat and fast drying).  They are both life and polish savers.

Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.  My top two favorites are Sew Psyched and Merino Cool.  I might have to get those 2 colors in the full size depending how long those minis will last me.

Fall is definitely in the air and at your local Starbucks lol  I saw these cute little fall design coffee cups and I had to share.  Toffee Mocha, Pumpkin Latte, and Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate is also back for the season.

Happy Food Porn Ending

I have been on a food pic taking kick lately so let's end this post with some more food porn.... mmmmm mmmm mmmm

Korean BBQ dinner.  This has got to be one of my favorite things to eat in the world!  I will have KBBQ cravings on a weekly basis.

I don't generally like to drink hot sake, but it sure hits the spot on a cold day!  My favorite sake is this cloudy sake called Nigori.

Spicy tuna on crispy rice.

Deep fried pork gyoza.

Spicy hen house bowl (basically chicken bowl), from a Korean Fusion place that just opened up near me called Chego.  This has egg, chinese brocoli, basil, and sour cream!  It's an explosion of flavors.

Salmon crepes with capers, dill, and creme fraiche.

We go there so much they recognized us and gave us a complimentary crepe with berry jam that they make in house.

Friday's Dinner:  Sausage, garlic, and mushroom pizza!

Hope all you lovelies had a great weekend!

Secret Angel/Devil Gift Exchange

Howdy lovelies!  I'm so late on this post since most of the girls have already posted their package already ( I think I'm the last one *innocent face*).

Linda (http://xoladiihoneyxo.blogspot.com/) hosted a Secret Angel/Devil gift exchange on Elfster so of course I participated!  I love little gift exchange events like these, they are always so much fun.

So here's what I got!

I was so excited when I received my package.  Once I opened the box I saw a gorgeous bag with a gorgeous gold rose on the handle.  This definitely gave away that it's from a Secret Angel!

The box was also filled with these super adorable white paper roses.  My secret angel is Stephanie (http://meibelle.blogspot.com/) !

Look at all the goodies and the pretty roses!

She picked me up 2 items from my wish list yay!  I've always wanted to try Illamasqua blushes but I never got a chance to get my hands on them.  This will be my first one, she picked one up for me in the color Chase.

I have never seen this Aquafina flavor splash balm before, it smells so yummy!

She also threw in this super cute bracelet!  Thank you Stephanie, you were definitely heaven sent :)

Group pic of all the goodies lol

Random - Food Porn

On Saturday me and my bf had to take the car in for an oil change so while we waited we had breakfast at IHOPS (International House of Pancakes).

I like to eat my hashbrowns and eggs with lots of ketchup.

Filet Mignon

These are all food from a restaurant called Cliff Hanger.  We went there for dinner to celebrate a Birthday.

Tuna Tare-tare

Beef Tar-tare with Quail Eggs

Lol these are actually not all the food I ate but people offered me to take pics of their food since they saw I was taking some of mine.

Duck Confit Ravioli

So this was my dish hehe and it was really really delicious!

Ok now I actually feel like I accomplished something good on a Monday.  Hope everyone is having a good week.
