Dupe Discovery: Chanel Coco Rouge 05 - Revlon Soft Rose

Hi everyone!  WOW, I feel like I have been away from blogger for so long.  Sorry for the lack of posts and comments!  I'm trying my best at the moment to get back on track again :)

I just recently switched jobs recently, so it's been kind of hectic with the new job and by the time I get home I get so tired that I lack all motivation to do anything but eat and sleep.  I also use to do a big chunk of my blog reading at my old job since it was more of a kick back environment.  Since I just started my new job not too long ago,  browsing the internet too much doesn't seem like a good idea yet so now the only times I can catch up on my blogs is after work or during the weekends.  My blog time has been cut, and so has my twitter time... boo!  I feel so out of the loop with everything.

Anyways, I am back...well sort of!  I will try my best to post and catch up on commenting on everyone's blog.  I really do miss the blogger world and all the wonderful blogger ladies.

Chanel Coco Rouge 05 Mademoiselle Dupe

CVS is having a BOGO sale on Revlon products this week so I couldn't resist and picked up a few things.  I really wanted to get the Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Soft Rose since I read on blog somewhere that it was a dupe of NARS Dolce Vita my favorite color of all time.  I only own the Dolce Vita gloss but have had the lipstick on my wishlist forever but still haven't gotten it yet.  I figured this lipstick might cure my Dolce Vita cravings.

Once I got home I had to try it on right away.  After trying it on I noticed that the color reminded me of a lipstick that I own.  After minutes of careful thinking I realized that it looked really similar to my Chanel Coco Rouge in 05 Mademoiselle!

In the tube both colors look really similar.  The Revlon Soft Rose looked a bit darker while Chanel looked like it had more of a pink undertone.

Once I swatched them I could barely tell the difference!  Can you tell which is which?  They are almost identical!  I was so excited at this point.

In case you are wondering, the Revlon is on the Right and the Chanel is on the Left.

Both Chanel and Revlon look the same on my lips.  The formula of the Revlon is also very creamy and moisturizing.  The camera washes the color out a little bit and definitely doesn't do it justice!  I wish I owned the NARS Dolce Vita lipstick to compare to these two, but unfortunately I don't, but I will one day.

I think I'm going to run to CVS tomorrow and get more for back up.  I am not sure why because I don't think I will ever finish both tubes of lipstick, but what the heck it makes me feel good to have back up!

CVS is also having a BOGO deal on Sally Hansen nail polishes.

I picked up Commander in Chic and Navy Baby.  Commander in Chic reminds me of Sephora OPI Metro Chic (possibly another dupe discovery!)

This weather has been nice and sunny this weekend, almost feels like summer!  I hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful week!

Til next time...toodles

Blogger Love Packages

Hi loves!  One of the best things that came out of this blog was the chance to get so meet and get to know so many sweet girls out there.  It's so nice to have a chance to connect with different people from different parts of the world that share the same love for beauty.

This post is dedicated to the love packages that some of these girls have sent me.  I didn't get these all at the same time but just thought I would save them and combine it in one post!

Love from Zoe

I sent Zoe a birthday present back in December and she was sweet enough to send me a Christmas/New Year's gift in return.

This lipstick case is so adorable!

Nature Republic sheet masks, can't wait to try.

Oriental lip scrub, I've been wanting to try this after seeing a review on Zoe's blog.  My dry flaky lips need a good scrubbin!

Mistine (Thai Make Up Brand) eyeliner.

This mask is so interesting, you are so suppose to mix in the powder with the liquid in the bottle.

Zoe knows I'm a blush addict so she got me a Nature Republic blush!  The puff is too cute.

Zoe told me this Lotus Pin is a symbol for good luck for the New Year.

Thank you Zoe for being so sweet and putting so much thought into your gift!

Love from Lulu

I mentioned on Twitter that I wanted to try some of the Jasmine Tea Lattes packets that she had sent to Cat, and of course she was so sweet to offer to send me some.

There was actually 4 total but 2 are missing because it's in my tummy!  These lattes are so good and smell amazing.  I can literally drink 2 daily if I had the supply.

She also included me some handmade bow pins.  They are so cute!

Also a handmade necklace, it's gorgeous!

Thank you Lulu!

Love from Songling

I did a little swap with Songling (ningstar) at the beginning of the year and she was so nice to send me a love package afterwards.

During our swap I wanted the Kate Mascara base but it was sold out so she grabbed one for me at a later time!

Yummy sheet masks!

Thank you Songling for being such a great swap buddy and blogger buddy!

Going Gaga

I saw this Gaga inspired hair piece while shopping in Chinatown a few weeks ago and couldn't resist but to grab it.

It doesn't fully match my hair color since I dyed my hair previously but it's cute anyways!

When life gives me lemons, I'm glad I have great blogger friends to sweeten up my day!

Review: Chanel Coco Rouge 05 Mademoiselle

Hi everyone!  I feel like I haven't been updating as much as I use to.  These past few weeks have been hectic and busy with random unexpected life events.  Regardless of all that I guess I still manage to find time to some how splurge on beauty items here and there.

I have always been intrigued by Chanel products but never really wanted to spend the heavy price tag until Chanel Rouge Coco came out.

What makes this lipstick collection so alluring is the back story behind it.

- The lipstick is based on a design from all the way back in 1952
- All shades are what Coco would of worn herself
- Each lipstick was named after an influential period in Coco's life
-New scent consisting of fresh roses, raspberry, and a hint of vanilla
- The formula contains a compound called Hydratendre Complex to soothe and soften lips

Vanessa Paradis is wearing the lipstick in 05 Mademoiselle

This color looked gorgeous and it's the infamous 05 number so I had to get it!  It is said that this particular shade is suppose to be flattering for all skin tones.

This color was all sold out online but luckily I found it at Macy's

Classic square shape with Chanel logo at the top

Hidden Chanel logo inside the cap

Closing the cap creates the perfect "click", that supposedly took the designers a long time to get it just right

Mademoiselle is a gorgeous creamy rose color.  It goes on sheer so it's up to you how simple or intense you want it.

I think this color is gorgeous for a day or night look

The formula is very creamy, hydrating, and glides on smoothly.  I also like how it doesn't really accentuate my dry lips but actually makes it look decent.

Overall = LOVE!  I actually plan to go back and maybe get one more color from the collection.  At $30 a piece it's definitely a splurge, but worth the investment.

I saw this really cute container when I went to Ulta and had to get it!  It originally contained some shimmer powder and was on sale but I figured I could dump the powder inside and put in my own.  I couldn't resist the pink and the bling!

I swapped out the powder that was inside and put in my MUFE HD powder so I can carry it around with me.  I wish they sold little empty jars of these so I can put pigments in them.

That's all for today, will be posting some more hauls, reviews, and blogger love packages in my upcoming posts!  I'm so happy that the week is over and the weekend is near.

Alice and Wonderland is out in theaters this week but not sure if I am going to see it yet since it's going to be packed!

Til next time....toodles!
