Red is in the air...

It's hailing and snowing in Los Angeles!  The weekend has started here with super cold weather and rain forecast all weekend.  Cold weather makes me just want to stay indoors all day, stay warm and cozy on the couch and catch up on all the tv shows.  Oh! and of course a cup of hot tea or coffee would be nice as well hehe

So I've been noticing lately that every time I go out I have been reaching for nothing but red color lipsticks.  I haven't really been doing much eye make up besides just maybe slapping on an all over lip color, lining my eyes with eyeliner, then topping it all off with mascara.  I feel like putting on some red lipstick really glams up my look instantly with very little effort!

Here's a look into my red lipstick collection.  It's not a huge one but it has definitely been growing recently.  I use to have only 1 red lipstick because it was always a color I was afraid to wear.

Red Puckers

L to R:
Le Metier De Beaute Colour Core Lipstick in Riviera
Rouge D Armani in 400
Smashbox Photo Finish Lipstick With Sila-Silk Technology in Lavish
MAC Viva Glam Cyndi
Revlon Colorburst in Coral

Swatches: Top to Bottom
Le Metier De Beaute - Bright Red with hints of Coral
Rouge D Armani - Ruby Red (My favorite Red Lipstick Ever!)
Smashbox - Classic Red
MAC - Rosey Red
Revlon - Coral Red

NYX Lipgloss in Sunrise

Apparently I only own 1 red gloss!  This is pigmented enough to be worn alone or paired with a red lipstick to intensify the color.  This also smells like fruit punch....yum

I'm wearing Rouge D Armani in 400 my favorite red lipstick.  The formula is super pigmented, creamy, and just amazing.  The staying power is great and this lipstick actually stains your lips a little so even when you eat or drink the color doesn't completely fade off.  This is great for me because I'm always eating or drinking something!

If you are feeling a little vampy or devilish, black lipglosses go great over red lipstick for that extra ooomph!  The one I have is by NYX.  This too also has a sweet smell.

Let's Get Cheeky

Tart Cheek Stain in Flush

This stuff just gives your cheeks such a natural flush.  It's that perfect type of blush when a boy you've been crushing on just looked your way and gave you the sweetest smile.

This also ridiculously lasts all day on my oily skin and smells amazing!  The only thing I dislike about this is that the product can get a little sticky and wet inside the packaging.

Left: Not blended
Right: Blended out

I DREAM OF RED...

These are the other Red items that I have been drooling over!

This color makes me think of a night on the town wearing my LBD.

Ruby has never been my favorite stone.  When I was younger I was all about the Aquamarines or Diamonds, but as I grew older I started having a new appreciation for Ruby.  I think they hold a sense of elegance, mystery, and fire!

Skinny jeans, and a white tea.....enough said.

I might be able to afford this in maybe umm 100 years? lol  I still can just stare at it and appreciate the beauty that is Birkin.

I just realized not too long ago that I don't own 1 piece of red lingerie!  How is that possible? lol  I could imagine a high power woman in a pencil black skirt and white button up wearing one of these underneath or maybe I just watch too much tv? hmmm

Red Hair

I kind of always wanted to dye my hair red just to see what it would look like but I have yet to take the plunge.

Red Velvet

Since we are on the red theme I couldn't help but throw in my favorite cake and guilty weight gaining pleasure!

What are your color obsessions as of lately?

Recent Buys

It has been raining on and off here again in LA for the past few days. Luckily there was a half day of sunshine yesterday and I manage to squeeze in a trip to the mall.

I'm supposedly on a low buy so I really didn't intend to buy anything besides just innocent window shopping and picking up a cup of my favorite Oolong Lychee ice tea from this tea shop called Bird's Pick. But of course my shopping addiction got the best of me and I grabbed a few things!

NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in Hopi

After seeing these on numerous blogs I couldn't help but to check them out at the NARS counter. I played around with them a bit and found them to be super smooth and glossy, plus the SA told me they contain Hyaluronic Acid which is suppose to lock in moisture and prevent your lips from drying out. Of course I was instantly sold so I decided to pick it up in the color Hopi.

I'm loving this color! It's such a gorgeous orangish copper brown. I am thinking of maybe picking up another one in New Lover which is a cute raspberry pink color.

Coach card/coin/keyholder

I was in the market for a new wallet and automatically fell in love with this little pink champagne card/keyholder by Coach.

I use to carry around big checkbook style wallets, but nowadays I like my wallets super small and compact ! My bag weighs like I'm carrying around a child sometimes so I try to minimize where I can.

Wet n Wild 3 Shadow Palettes

had to make a trip to Walgreens for some laundry detergent so I couldn't help but wander off to the make up section. Wet n Wild palettes have been getting so many raves that I had to pick up a few for myself. I got Silent Treatment and Walking on Eggshells.

I love simple neutrals and Walking on Eggshells contain all the colors I would use on a daily basis.

Silent treatment has a really gorgeous taupe color that's suppose to be a dupe of MAC Satin Taupe.

I have yet to try these out on myself so I'm excited to see how they hold up!

OPI Black Shatter

I got my hands on the OPI Black Shatter and decided to pair it with a neon green polish.

My bf says it reminds him of the Matrix lol.

H&M

Every time I go to the mall I have to go take a peek at H&M if they have a store there.

Picked up some hair ties, little black claws, and flower clips.

I have been into tights this season and spotted a caramel brown color that I had to have !

That's basically it for my unintentional hauls lol.

Toodles !!

Nail Swatches : Zoya, Deborah Lippmann

Hi everyone!  I feel like it's been awhile since I last blogged again.  I've been sick for the past few weeks.  It started out as an innocent cold then turned into a full blown flu.  Thankfully I'm finally recovered now but still have a little bit of a lingering cough.  Being sick definitely sucks and I have felt that I've been getting sick quite often these days so I figured I should look into trying to eat and do things that will strengthen my immunity system.

One of the things I found was the benefits of drinking lemon water. Squeezing half a lemon juice into warm water and drinking it in the morning daily is suppose to help remove toxins from your body.  You can drink it with cold water if you wish but they suggest warm water because it's closer to your body temperature so your body won't have to work so hard.

So I started drinking lemon water every morning and have been doing it for like a week now and it has done wonders!  I'm usually a coffee drinker but I read that coffee actually dehydrates you and strips your body of it's antioxidants, so I've actually given up drinking coffee for about 2 weeks now.  I still crave for the delicious taste of a cup of coffee but I'm not dependent on it anymore.

Okay enough about the sick news hehe, on to some beauty related stuff!  So since I've been sick I really haven't been playing around with much make up but instead I've been painting my nails a lot lately, so wanted to share a few swatches with you guys.

Zoya Cheryl

I picked up some Zoya nail polishes during their Facebook promotion.  So far I've received 2 out of 3 since the color Kelly is supposedly on back order.

I'm not usually into metallic colors but Zoya Cheryl is gorgeous!  This is only 1 coat and I love how pigmented it is.  The color is also very unique.

Zoya Shawn
I'm not sure what it is but I'm really loving green nails lately.  Zoya Shawn is such a pretty green that screams out preppy chic!

Deborah Lippmann - No More Drama

I've never tried any Deborah Lippmann nail polishes before but have always been curious.  I finally managed to get my hands on one during a swap and I'm in love!  I love everything from the formula to the size of the brush that makes it such an ease to apply.  It also dries super fast and I didn't even need to use my Seche Vite top coat.

I'm also in love with this color.  It's such a cute caramel brown with a super fine glitter sheen.  I think I want to try more colors from them but at around $16 each they are quite pricey!

What nail colors has everyone been loving lately?
